From those, a complete of fifty five complete papers plus one keynote paper have been approved for this LNCS lawsuits quantity, representing an popularity cost of approximately 30%. The authors of those accredited papers have been of a notable overseas range. we want to thank the entire reviewers for spending their important time reviewing the papers and for offering useful reviews that aided considerably within the paper choice method. Authors of the simplest papers provided at this convention might be invited to publish prolonged models in their papers for attainable book in 1) a distinct factor of IEEE Trans. on wisdom and knowledge Engineering, for these papers appropriate to wisdom and information engineering; and a couple of) a different factor of the foreign magazine of Distance schooling applied sciences (JDET), for papers of alternative components. This was once the 1st time that the ICWL convention used to be geared up in Europe and 27 papers have been from ecu researchers. we wish to thank our association Chair Dr. Taku Komura for spending a massive volume of power in coordinating the neighborhood preparations. in reality, we wish to thank the whole convention association committee for his or her labor in placing jointly the convention. specifically, we wish to specific our appreciation to our Registration Chair Dr.

Hk 2 Abstract. This paper presents PLANT, a distributed architecture for personalized E-Learning built upon the Edutella network which is a schema-based peerto-peer system. The goal of PLANT is to facilitate individual learning on the Internet which abounds in a wide variety of educational resources and services. The distinctive features of PLANT are threefold. First, multifarious educational contents as well as individual learners can be evaluated by consensus in unified semantic contexts. This greatly encourages those educational resources with high quality.
They utilize the services provided by the underlying layers and combine different services to support personalized individual E-Learning activities. For example, the virtual course service creates a learning space for an E-Learner when a subject is established by the E-Learner. In this learning space, the E-Learner can perform semantic search for educational contents. The results can be bookmarked for long-period learning. The E-Learner can evaluate and annotate any resource anytime during using this resource.
The strength of this design is that system users can also be evaluated by those users in the same semantic contexts. We extend the LOM standard with additional elements. Description). acm. org/class/1998), an instance of Classification category (9:Classification) is added. A new datatype MeasurableInt is also added which indicates a value should be interpreted as an integer and can be used for evaluation. A property defined as a MeasurableInt is called a measurable property. Description) which describes the knowledge level of the user in that subject.
